Summary

Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Reading and understanding Shipping Schedule
  • Retrieving frames from outside using a forklift
  • Grinding and painting the underside of carrier bodies
  • Assembling/joining the body and frame together
  • Moving carrier bodies using a manual push cart
  • Operates overhead crane to move, or hoist shipments to storage or work area.
  • Attaching shipping stands to carrier bodies
  • Removing and storing lumber
  • Using miter saw to cut lumber for stacking units
  • Identifying any quality issues (weld, paint, etc.) before product is shipped out to customers
  • Testing hydraulic functions
  • Assist in the shipping department as needed
  • Keep work areas clean, orderly, and free of safety hazards
  • Follow all safety rules, OSHA regulations, and plant procedures
  • Conduct basic equipment inspections before use
  • Wear required PPE at all times
  • Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred
  • Other duties as assigned

Education And/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have intermediate data entry skills.

  • Must frequently lift and/or move 5-30lbs.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50+lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Required to work four 10-hour days, occasionally working 40+ hours/week as business demands.
  • Ability to wear protective gear due to fumes or airborne particles.
  • Ability to frequently be exposed to flashing lights.
  • Must occasionally be exposed to weather conditions such as: precipitation, extreme cold and extreme heat.
  • Regularly required to wear hearing protection in a loud environment.
