Job summary

Prysmian is seeking a Wireway Associate in North Carolina to efficiently operate production areas for sheet metal wireway parts. You will set up machines, inspect first piece and ongoing quality, and ensure clean, safe work areas.

You will also read drawings, work with SAP for material availability, and operate forklifts and other fabrication tools. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for long periods, and using hand tools and pneumatic guns as needed.

Qualifications

  • Read and understand operations manuals.
  • Read and understand process instructions and process drawings.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Walk or stand for extended periods during shifts.
  • Use small hand tools and pneumatic screw guns repeatedly as needed.
  • Maintain safety and housekeeping standards within the department.

Responsibilities

  • Lift and carry up to 25 pounds repeatedly.
  • Enter production data and material availability in SAP.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

WIREWAY ASSOCIATE

Responsible for the efficient operation of one or more assigned production areas to produce sheet metal wireway parts in accordance to customer drawings, internal sketches, or other forms of instruction.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate in a safe manner.
  • Read and understand operations manuals.
  • Read and understand process instructions and process drawings.
  • Set up each machine and perform first piece inspections.
  • Perform quality inspections of work.
  • Operate shears, punch presses, press brakes, spot welder, roll former, and other fabrication equipment.
  • Use conventional measuring instruments such as tape measures and micrometers.
  • Assemble parts.
  • Operate forklift.
  • Repetitively lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Use SAP to enter production and check availability of material.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Other duties as assigned by the area supervisor

This description will cover most significant duties performed, but does not exclude other occasional work assignments not mentioned, the inclusion of which would be in conformity with the factor degrees assigned to this job. This job is designed to encompass a range of concurrent and relatively equal responsibilities.
