Job summary

Prysmian in the United States is seeking a Quality Associate to oversee testing of wire, cable and compounds in manufacturing and lab environments. This role supports the Quality Engineer to implement and maintain the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and participate in process improvement.

Shifts are 2nd and 3rd (3pm–11pm and 11pm–7am). Pay rates range from $29.50 to $30.25 per hour, with benefits from Day 1 for direct hires.

Qualifications

  • Must have experience with wire and cable testing and electrical/mechanical testing.
  • Able to work independently or in a team; capable of multi-tasking.
  • Technologically savvy with strong computer skills; sound technical and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to drive projects; high energy, detail oriented, and strong communicator.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure production processes and inspections align with QMS requirements.
  • Assist with complaint analysis and corrective actions.
  • Support Continuous Improvement, Safety, and 6S events.
  • Assist in changeovers, start-ups, and performing Process Audits.
  • Train associates on inspection equipment, data entry, and testing.
  • Coordinate corrective actions with Quality Engineer/Manager.
  • Interact with customer visits (onsite or offsite) and suppliers as needed.
  • Perform other duties as directed by Quality Manager.

Basic Function

Reporting to the Quality Manager, this position is responsible to oversee and support the testing of Compounds, Wire, and Cable Assemblies in the manufacturing environment and laboratories. This position supports the Quality Engineer and Manager to implement and maintain the Quality Management System per ISO 9001.

Shifts

2nd & 3rd Shift - Monday through Friday from 3pm to 11pm & 11pm to 7am

Pay Rates

$29.50 & $30.25 per hour

Principle Functional Responsibilities

Ensure that all production processes and inspection activities align with the requirements outlined by the QMS. Assist with complaint analysis and corrective actions. Support Continuous Improvement projects, Safety, and 6S events. Support production through assisting in changeovers, start-ups, and performing Process Audits. Train associates how to use inspection equipment, enter data and perform required testing. Coordinate corrective actions as directed by the Quality Engineer and/or Quality Manager. Interact with customer visits (offsite or onsite) as needed. Interact with suppliers as needed for audits, certifications and purchased material concerns. Perform other duties as directed by Quality Manager.

Key Requirements

Experienced with Wire and Cable testing, Electrical and Mechanical testing. Ability to work as an individual or as a team. Capable of multi-tasking. Technologically savvy; strong computer skills. Sound technical skills, analytical ability, and good judgment. Must be able to drive projects. High energy: demonstrates urgency and is detail oriented. Strong communication skills are required.

Desired Background
  • Min of 5 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office Programs
  • Quality systems auditing
  • Proven ability to work in a team setting with a strong floor presence
  • Experience with wire and cable is a plus.
Education

AS degree minimum, BS degree is preferred.
