Job summary

Baker Hughes (Altus Intervention) seeks an experienced Field Specialist to deliver wireline tractor and mechanical intervention services across U.S. districts. You will troubleshoot, operate, and maintain heavy equipment while ensuring safe, compliant field operations.

The role requires an engineering degree or technical diploma, CDL Class A, 3+ years of related experience, strong communication, and willingness to travel. You will mentor junior staff and contribute to job planning and reporting.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or Technical Diploma is required.
• 3+ years of wireline tractor and/or mechanical intervention experience preferred.
• Valid CDL Class A Driver’s License with clean driving record.
• Towing trailer experience highly preferred.
• Flexibility to travel across the U.S. during work hitch.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and internal reporting tools.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Teamwork orientation and ability to lead by example.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, reliable wireline tractor and mechanical intervention services.
• Independently troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues on tractors and tools.

• Prepare, verify, and complete job packages and documentation.
• Complete final job packages and quality verification.
• Coordinate district-level activities with Operations and Sales teams.
• Mentor and train Field Specialists and junior personnel.
• Uphold HSE standards and comply with regulations.

• Deliver safe, reliable, high-quality wireline tractor and mechanical intervention services for Baker Hughes (Altus Intervention)
• Independently troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues on tractor and mechanical tools
• Operate, maintain, and optimize rotation and mechanical equipment
• Execute field operations according to Baker procedures, industry standards, and client expectations
• Prepare, verify, and control equipment required for tractor operations
• Complete final job packages/Job Planners, including reporting, documentation, and quality verification
• Coordinate district-level activities with Operations and Sales teams
• Collect and validate customer information for job preparation and execution
• Complete job documentation and maintain equipment to high standards
• Mentor and train Field Specialists and junior personnel
• Recommend performance evaluations, hiring decisions, and promotions to the Operations Manager
• Participate in professional development, technical courses, project work, technical/safety meetings, project reviews, and operational planning
• Uphold HSE standards and comply with regulatory and procedural requirements
• Report nonconformities, equipment issues, and incidents to the Operations Manager
• Clean, maintain, and professionally present tools, vehicles, and equipment
• Contribute to onshore equipment upgrades, maintenance programs, and quality control initiatives

Requirements

• Engineering degree or Technical Diploma
• 3+ years of directly related wireline tractor and/or mechanical intervention experience (Preferable)
• Valid CDL Class A Driver’s License with a clean driving record
• Towing trailer experience highly preferred
• Flexible ability to travel and work in other districts across the U.S. during work hitch
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internal reporting tools
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills
