Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Wireline Field Operator to support our Downhole Wireline Team in Victoria, TX. The role involves field service, equipment maintenance, and cable head operations to support well construction and production projects.

You will work on-site at well sites, maintain records, and ensure safety and customer satisfaction. Strong mechanical skills, CDL, and willingness to travel/perform extended shifts are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• CDL Class A or B with a clean driving record is required.
• Ability to pass a Federal background check is required.
• Must be 21+ to obtain ATF explosives certification.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work and communicate with customers and employees.
• On-call 24/7 with flexibility for extended site work is required.
• Ability to use computers for reporting and communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for jobs and perform tool maintenance, pre‑job and post‑job checks.
• Rig up and rig down equipment at the well site.
• Service mechanical devices and build logging cable heads.
• Perforate cable heads and maintain tools.
• Maintain well site/DOT records and communicate as required.
• Complete job paperwork for self and crew.
• Promote and maintain good customer relations.
• Perform routine work following detailed site instructions.
• Drive company vehicles safely per regulations.
• Participate in quality improvement for ballistics operations.
• Supervise and train other Field Operators with safety focus.

Position Overview

Join our Downhole Wireline Team in Victoria, TX. We are the leader in well construction and production, providing innovative physical and digital solutions to improve efficiency, production, and reservoir value. Our team serves as the repair hub for all global Wireline technologies, delivering high‑level service for maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of our equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for jobs and perform tool maintenance, pre‑job and post‑job tool check‑out.
• Rig up and rig down equipment at the well site.
• Service mechanical devices and build logging cable heads.
• Perforate cable heads and maintain tools.
• Maintain well site / DOT records and communications as required by the District Manager.
• Complete job‑related paperwork and other records for self and assigned crew.
• Promote and maintain good customer relations.
• Receive instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on well site activity.
• Perform basic duties at the well site and at the shop.
• Drive company vehicles safely while observing company and government regulations.
• Participate in quality improvement efforts for ballistics operations.
• Supervise and train other Field Operators while maintaining a high level of safety awareness at the well site.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Class A or B CDL with a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a Federal background check.
• Must be 21 years of age or older to obtain ATF explosives certification.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work and communicate well with customers and employees.
• Availability to work on‑call 24/7 and flexibility to work at well sites for extended periods.
• Ability to utilize computers for communication, reporting, and other work‑related purposes.

Desired Characteristics

• Previous military experience.
• Previous oilfield experience.
• CDL Hazmat endorsement.
• Career‑minded individuals with a strong work ethic.
• Previous experience as a Wireline Field Operator.

Work Schedule

• On‑call 24 hrs – Work Schedule: 14 days on, 7 days off.
