Job summary

SLB in Lafayette, Louisiana, is seeking a Wireline Mechanic Intern to support field maintenance and equipment readiness. The internship involves assisting senior Technicians and performing basic, noninvasive maintenance tasks under supervision to ensure timely delivery and asset efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum technical degree in diesel mechanics or hydraulics.
• Previous experience as a wireline operator or mechanic.
• Full‑time internship, 40+ hours per week.
• Legal right to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform activities assigned by the Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM) Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisor or Technician.
• Work under direct supervision of Technicians or Maintenance Supervisors.
• Perform low‑level, noninvasive maintenance tasks.
• Ensure assigned equipment is maintained according to the CMMS for the Division, the relevant maintenance programs, and standard work.
• Adhere to transactional discipline within TLM business systems to record materials and supplies, labor costs, and equipment maintenance performance history.
• Comply with Division TLM standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and remedial work plans within the MB to improve asset utilization and cost of service delivery (CoSD).
• Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance the efficiency and productivity of Maintenance Technicians.
