Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Wireless Lead Field Technician with a strong background in construction and telecom infrastructure. The ideal candidate will lead and oversee field teams responsible for equipment upgrades, DC power plant installations, cabinet swaps, and associated civil work including trenching and conduit installations. The Lead Field Technicianwill ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and according to technical and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate civil and electrical crews during field installations and upgrades.
  • Lead the installation of Raycap (Adder Driver) and FLX21 or similar outdoor cabinet hardware.
  • Oversee trenching, conduit installation, and site preparation as needed.
  • Manage cut-over of existing DC circuits during 48V to 58V power plant conversions using appropriate kits.
  • Direct FLX cabinet upgrades and upconverter installations, including:
  • Breaker relocation

Perform Nokia BBU to Ericsson BBU swaps.

Supervise DC power upgrades, including:

Battery-only installations

Full power plant installs and swaps

Ensure safety, compliance, and quality across all field operations.

Communicate project status, delays, and issues to the project team promptly.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in wireless or telecom infrastructure projects.
  • Proven field leadership experience managing crews and subcontractors.
  • Strong understanding of DC power systems, telecom cabinet installs, and battery backups.
  • Hands-on experience with Raycap, FLX cabinets, and BBU swaps is highly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety practices and local construction regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed.

Preferred Skills:

  • OSHA 30 certification, In Class CPR/AED, RF, and bloodborne certs
  • Telecom or power plant installation certifications
  • Familiarity with Nokia and Ericsson hardware
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in outdoor environments.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Willingness to travel to various job sites throughout the region.
