Job summary

The Oregon Department of Transportation is seeking a Wireless Systems Specialist in Baker City. You will build, install, maintain, and repair wireless two-way radio and microwave networks for a defined service area and support agency customers including OSHP, Fire Marshal, and others.

Qualifications

• Four years of wireless communications or information systems experience in wireless systems.
• Associate degree in information technology or related field with two years of wireless experience.
• Bachelor's degree may substitute for all above.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate situations and resolve customer inquiries.
• Install, test, replace or repair cable types and systems.
• Review customer needs and provide on-site training.
• Coordinate installation of mobile radio equipment.
• Identify and prioritize repairs and replacements.
• Coordinate with vendors for technical information and upgrades.
• Maintain systems and equipment for peak operation.
• Travel region-wide; lift heavy objects safely.
