Job description

We are seeking a Junior Wireless Engineer to oversee access point (AP) installations and support broader wireless and cellular deployment initiatives across a multi-building campus environment. In this role, you will collaborate with design and cabling teams to ensure APs are correctly mounted, cabled, and powered per design specifications. You will also work alongside RF Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on wireless enclave designs, system validation, site surveys, and spectrum interference resolution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Access Point & Field Operations: Coordinate directly with design and cable installation teams to verify APs are properly mounted, cabled, and powered per design requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Assist with cellular, wireless, and campus-wide technology installations; coordinate installation schedules and site logistics with internal teams and customer points of contact.
  • RF & Wireless Systems: Assist RF SMEs with wireless enclave designs and system validation across diverse technologies (5G/Cellular, Wi‑Fi, UHF/VHF, Bluetooth, DAS, WIDS/WIPS, and SATCOM).
  • Site Surveys & Documentation: Perform and assist with wireless site surveys to identify optimal installation strategies. Document install locations, configurations, and coverage/performance results.
  • Spectrum Optimization: Advise on spectrum interference resolution methods and participate in ongoing wireless planning activities.
  • Local Mobility: Travel between facility sites within the local campus/base area to oversee active field deployments.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience: 1–2 years of proven, hands‑on experience in wireless networking. (Relevant professional or field experience can substitute for formal degree requirements.)
  • Security Clearance: Active Top Secret (TS) clearance required prior to start date. Must be able to successfully pass and maintain a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph based on customer scheduling (continuation of employment is contingent upon passing).
  • Core Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of basic Wi‑Fi concepts (signal coverage areas, channel selection, interference, attenuation, etc.) and general wireless technology principles.
  • Preferred Experience: Hands‑on experience or familiarity with Aruba Access Points is highly preferred.
  • Certifications: Industry certifications (e.g., Network+, Security+, CCNA, CWNA, or vendor‑specific wireless certs) are a plus. Candidates should have the ability and willingness to obtain relevant certifications as needed.
  • Physical & Environmental Requirements: Ability to meet basic OSHA physical safety standards suitable for field/installation oversight (e.g., standing, walking local facility footprints, carrying basic testing equipment, and navigating active installation sites).
