Oberg Industries is seeking skilled Wire EDM Operators to join our on-site team in Sarver, PA. You will operate Wire Electrical Discharge Machines, perform routine maintenance, and manage multiple machines to maximize unattended operation.

Qualifications

• Blueprint reading, math fundamentals, and geometry are required.

Responsibilities

• Operate Wire EDM machines to produce precision components.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic wire-EDM tasks, including slug removal.
• Run multiple machines and plan workloads for unattended operation.
• Diagnose and correct equipment issues using testing tools and experience.
• Ensure compliance with quality systems, safety, and security procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and assist with related duties.

This position is located in Sarver, PA, and we are hiring for both day and night shifts. 20% shift differential is paid for working the night shift.

What You Will Do as a Wirecut Operator:

• Operate Wire Electrical Discharge Machines (EDM) to produce precision components.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic wire-EDM functions, including removing slugs from workpieces.
• Run multiple machines simultaneously and plan workloads to maximize unattended operations.
• Plan workloads to maximize unattended machine operations and production efficiency.
• Locate, diagnose, and correct problems in equipment and systems using testing tools and prior experience.
• Comply with all company quality system standards, safety, and security procedures.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You Will Bring to our Team:

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Knowledge of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Strong written, verbal, or other forms of communication skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and systems.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or be able to comply with U.S. export regulations.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship.
• Ability to wear personal protection equipment, such as earplugs, safety glasses, and safety shoes.
• Ability to stand, sit, stool, kneel or work in bent positions for up to 10 hours per day.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds with control and unassisted.

Preferred Education/Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior machining or wire EDM experience a plus.
