Job summary

Bracken Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a Wire Welder to lay out, fit, align, assemble and weld metal components using arc welding methods. You will interpret welding instructions, blueprints, and structural drawings to ensure precise fabrication and assembly.

The role requires 3+ years of welding experience, ability to pass FCAW-G tests (horizontal, vertical, overhead), and reading of drawings. On-site construction environment with potential overtime to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a welder, preferably on a construction site.
• Must be capable of passing a welding certification test that includes FCAW-G-2G (horizontal), 3G (vertical), and 4G (overhead)
• Must be able to read and comprehend welding instructions.
• Must be familiar with blueprints and/or structural drawings.
• Must be able to read a tape measure.
• Must have all required welding tools necessary to perform the above-listed duties.

Responsibilities

• Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding by applying proper welding techniques.
• Lay out, position, align, and fit components together.
• Bolt, clamp and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding.
• Set up equipment and welds parts, using arc welding equipment.
• Assemble parts by bolting.
• Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts using cutting torch, straightening press, and other hand tools.
• Stencil completed welds with assigned employee numbers
• Clean all welds and weld areas with a wire brush or wire wheel.
• Work overtime hours as necessary to meet project deadlines.
• Regular, punctual attendance is required.
