Job summary

Bigge Crane and Rigging Co. is seeking a full-time technician in Houston, TX to assist with cable maintenance and rigging tasks. You will help inspect, repair, splice, and install cables, splices, and related components while supporting overhead crane operation and material handling.

The role requires experience with wire rope splicing, a valid driver’s license, and a strong commitment to safety and quality in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of industrial rope splicing or steel wire rope splicing experience.
• Ability to write clearly and effectively; follow instructions.
• Current and valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Computer literate and able to process information.
• Strong work ethic and safe work habits.

Responsibilities

• Assists in inspection of cables for defects.
• Assists in repairing, splicing, and lubricating traction cables.
• Assists in splicing fiber and wire rope slings and rigging.
• Assists in installation of new cables and adjusting cable tension carriages.
• Assists in inspection, repair, and installation of sheaves, lagging, and components.
• Assists in operation of the overhead crane and machinery.
• Operates motor vehicles.
