Job summary

Van Meter Inc. in Minnesota is seeking a Wire Processor to support our customers' competitive advantage by handling orders accurately and efficiently.

You will use a forklift to move pipe and wire, prepare products for delivery, and cooperate with the Wire Processor Lead to ensure orders are completed safely. Responsibilities include receiving and unloading, locating inventory with forklift, palletizing and labeling for delivery, maintaining inventory accuracy, and adhering to safety policies

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift 100 lbs on a consistent basis.
• Ability to operate lift truck equipment.
• Knowledge of Eclipse preferred.
• Knowledge of handheld RF scanner is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Pick and prepare customer pipe and wire in an efficient and accurate manner based on department procedures.
• Receive and unload commodities from delivery trucks.
• Utilize forklift equipment to properly locate inventory throughout warehouse.
• Prepare product for delivery to customers and/or other branch locations by palletizing, banding, labeling and staging of material.
• Properly secure, ship and load material for customer delivery.
• Accurately maintain commodities inventory, including reporting of inventory discrepancies.
• Daily maintenance, cleanliness, and organization of equipment and tools.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and initiatives.
• Assist in maintaining distribution center cleanliness and order.
• Cross-train in other departments as needed.
• Support team members by participating in team lifts.
• Participate in commodities team process improvements.
• Provide coverage in areas of the distribution center in which staffing is low and work level is high.
