Job summary

Van Meter Inc. is seeking a Commodities Team Member to support efficient movement of wire products in the distribution center. You will receive, store, pick, process, and prepare materials for delivery while ensuring inventory accuracy and safe operations.

Responsibilities include picking and processing orders, unloading inbound shipments, operating forklifts, staging shipments, and maintaining a clean work environment. The role requires physical stamina and a commitment to accuracy and safety.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 75lbs with or without assistance.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical work throughout shift.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Strong communication and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Pick and process customer pipe, wire, and conduit orders.
• Receive, unload, inspect, and put away inbound shipments.
• Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely.
• Prepare, stage, load, and secure materials for deliveries.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and report discrepancies.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Support cross-training, operational coverage, and continuous improvement initiatives.
