Job summary

Kranze Technology Solutions in Des Plaines, IL is seeking an experienced drafter/designer to support the wire harness team in creating new designs and maintaining existing products. This is a full-time position at the KTS facility.

You will create and revise wire harness drawings, installation drawings, and schematics using CAD tools; develop 2D/3D CAD models; and generate detailed drawing packages including wire lists, connection tables, and installation views to facilitate manufacturing.

Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field.
Ability to obtain Security Clearance (US citizenship required).
Four+ years CAD experience with wiring in defense/commercial aviation or automotive fields.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and system diagrams.
Proficiency in CAD tools such as Zuken, Siemens NX, Creo, or related tools.

Responsibilities

Create and revise wire harness drawings, installation drawings, and schematics using CAD tools.
Develop 2D and 3D CAD models of harness routing within assemblies based on input.
Generate drawing packages including harness formboard drawings, wire lists, connection tables, and installation views.
Design minor components or parts of major systems and modify designs to improve manufacturing.
Work from engineering notes, sketches, redlines to create or modify designs.
Collaborate with engineering, quality and operations/manufacturing teams.
