Job summary

Kranze Technology Solutions is seeking a Hardware Engineering Lead for Wiring Design to oversee wiring design programs and lead a team of engineers onsite in Des Plaines, Illinois. The role emphasizes delivery, standards compliance, and collaboration with operations and customers.

The candidate should have 5+ years in wiring design, strong leadership, and the ability to obtain a US security clearance. The position offers competitive benefits and onsite work only.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Five or more years of experience executing wiring design and installation programs.
• Experience as a team or project lead.
• Proven history of providing technical guidance to junior engineers.
• Intimate knowledge of government and commercial specifications for wire harnesses.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to obtain Security Clearance, US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight, mentoring and training to a team of wiring engineers.
• Define wiring requirements in collaboration with hardware design engineers and customers.
• Support cradle‑to‑grave wiring design, build, integration, and production support.
• Lead the design, build, and installation of electrical wire harnesses.
• Work with Operations to ensure compliant, high‑quality harness builds.
• Staff projects, forecast workload and ensure timely program execution.
• Assist with proposal development, budgets and scheduling.
