Job summary

Omni Aerospace is seeking an Electrical Assembly Technician in Wichita, KS to join our electrical assembly department. You will read work orders and diagrams to determine materials, then route and tie wires to form harnesses for electrical systems.

The role requires soldering and crimping experience, reading complex instructions, and precision in measuring and testing continuity to ensure quality. Knowledge of ISO 9001 / AS 9100 is valued.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand complex work instructions, schematics, and drawings.
• Experience building custom cable assemblies and/or wire harnesses.
• Soldering and crimping experience; crimp plastic sleeves without damaging wires.

Responsibilities

• Routes and ties wires to form wire harnesses for electrical and electronic equipment or systems.
• Selects wires by color/length and follows board diagrams for harness assembly.
• Wraps and secures wires, applies sealing liquid, and tests continuity.
• Marks data on completed harnesses and prepares assemblies for final assembly.

We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Assembly Technician for our Electrical assembly department. If you want to be a part of a growing organization and have the experience we are looking for, we strongly encourage you to apply today.Successful Candidates will perform the following duties:Routes and ties wires to form wire harness used in electrical and electronic equipment or systems: Reads instructions, such as work orders, diagrams, and wire lists to determine materials needed and sequence of assembly.Selects wires of specified color, marking, or length, and loops wires between guide pegs on harness board, following color-coded lines or sequential numbers on board or diagram.Wraps and ties wires together at designated points to form harness, manually or using tie-wrap gun.May apply sealing liquid to secure knots in ties, using brush.May attach ends of wires to components, plugs, or terminal strip, using soldering iron or crimping device.May insert cable in plastic tubing or inject plastic sealant around terminals to protect cable from dust and moisture.May test wiring continuity, using continuity tester.May mark identifying data on completed harnessElectro-mechanical assemblerWire cutting and crimpingHave the ability to read and understand complex work instructions, schematics, and drawingsHave mastery of basic mathematical skills including the ability to perform linear measurementsExperience building custom cable assemblies and/or wire harnessesHave soldering and crimping experienceMust be able to crimp plastic sleeves on wires without damaging the internal wire itself.Understand ISO 9001 / AS 9100Have strong attention to detail
