Job summary

Moeller Precision Tool in Antioch, TN is seeking a Wire EDM Operator to program, set up and run Mitsubishi EDM machines.

You will translate drawings to precise measurements, perform calibration, inspect parts, and ensure high quality while meeting production schedules. The role requires strong blueprint reading and mechanical aptitude and offers overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills (Algebra or higher).
• High school Diploma or GED.
• Ability to work up to 10 hours a day (Physical Agility).
• Proficient in EDM set‑up and operation.
• Excellent blueprint reading skills.
• Strong mechanical knowledge.
• Previous experience with tool steel preferred.
• Previous experience with Mitsubishi EDM machines preferred.

Job Purpose

The Wire EDM Operator is responsible for programming, setting up, maintaining and running wire EDM machines.

Responsibilities

• Perform proper set‑up and calibration procedures for all equipment and accessories.
• Set tolerance levels and speeds.
• Translate the requirements of detailed part drawings into measurements for production.
• Perform inspection on manufactured parts.

Requirements

• Basic math skills (Algebra or higher).
• High school Diploma or GED.
• Ability to work up to 10 hours a day (Physical Agility).
• Proficient in EDM set‑up and operation.
• Excellent blueprint reading skills.
• Strong mechanical knowledge.
• Previous experience with tool steel preferred.

Schedule

• Training on Day Shift, transition to nights.
• Nights: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM (Mon‑Fri).
• Normal shift consists of 8‑10 hours per day.
• Overtime required.
• Approximate hours: 45‑50 hours per week on average.

Physical Demands And Work Environment

The manufacturing shop is well‑maintained for cleanliness, with daily disinfecting and floor scrubbing. The entire building is air‑conditioned and ventilated to maintain cool, clean air quality.

The role may require standing, walking, sitting, and using hands to handle objects; occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be necessary. Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds is essential. Specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception and focus adjustment, are required.
