Job summary

Cirtec Medical Corporation is seeking a Machinist II for first shift in Brooklyn Park, MN. The role centers on setting up, maintaining, and operating wire EDM machines to produce high-quality parts for complex medical devices.

Qualifications include 2+ years in Wire EDM, strong reading/writing in English, and blueprint-driven workmanship. You will report to the supervisor/lead, collaborate with engineering and quality teams, and ensure safety and process compliance while maintaining productivity

Qualifications

• This position requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least 2 years of Wire EDM machining experience.
• Must be able to read, write and comprehend English and perform inspection using microscopes, calipers, dial indicators and vision systems.
• Ability to interpret geometric tolerancing and maintain accuracy, detail-oriented with problem solving skills.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Operate wire EDM machines according to blueprints and process travelers.
• Complete all department paperwork, inspection documentation, and tooling requests accurately.
• Build quality parts with proper tool and work offsets and maintain production efficiency.
• Troubleshoot quality problems using process controls and corrective actions.
• Set up and run assigned jobs/projects in collaboration with engineering and quality teams.

Position Summary

This position is primarily responsible for setting up, maintaining and operating wire EDM machines. A Machinist II should be self-motivated and ensure the product is done on time and of the highest quality possible. Machinist II has excellent trouble shooting ability on both the machine and tooling, and can assist the Supervisor and/or Lead, as well as the programmers with the operation of the department.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate wire EDM machines
• Accurately completes all department paperwork including job travelers, Inspection documentation, work packet information, and tooling request forms
• Builds quality parts using good working knowledge of blueprints
• Uses knowledge of the functions of the machines, including tool and work offsets, to adjust them to ensure quality
• Regularly inspects parts according to process to ensure quality parts are being produced
• Maintains a high level of efficient production
• Interacts effectively with engineering and quality individuals to solve problems
• Setup and run assigned jobs/projects
• Troubleshoot quality problems by effectively utilizing process controls and corrective actions
• Complies with company, quality and and safety standards, policies, and procedures

Must Have

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 2 years Wire Electrical Discharge (Wire EDM) machining experience
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English
• Inspection experience using microscopes, calipers, dial indicators and vision systems
• Comprehension of geometric tolerancing
• Attention to details
• Problem solving abilities
• Ability to stand for extended period of time

Salary Range

$26 - $30/hour, based on skills and experience
