Job summary

The Structures Company is seeking a Wire Design & Install Engineer 3 in Renton, WA. You will develop and maintain wire harness detail and electrical design designs across aircraft systems, using Catia V5 for 3D routing and installation planning.

Responsibilities include design reviews, preparing statements of work, and collaborating with suppliers to ensure complete integrated designs. This role requires 5+ years in the field and US ITAR compliance.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in wire harness or electrical design.
Bachelor degree in engineering or related field; ABET accreditation preferred.
Must be a U.S. Person per ITAR.
Experience with Catia V5 for 3D modeling.
Experience with 3D modeling for electrical products and harnesses.
Experience wiring routing throughout aircraft.

Responsibilities

Develops and maintains cable and wire harness detail and assembly designs.
Develops and maintains electrical product detail, assembly, and installation designs including equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry, antennas.
Analyzes results and performs design reviews for wire harness and electrical systems.
Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies including rejection tags and shop revision requests.
Documents processes, specifications, and procedures that support design and manufacture of electrical commodities.
Develops basic statements of work for electrical design tasks.
Participates in technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.
Analyzes functional and physical input to assure development of complete integrated design.
