Job summary

Goodwill-Central-Coast is seeking a Workforce Development Specialist to conduct in-depth assessments, develop individualized employment plans, and provide ongoing job readiness support under the WIOA program in Watsonville, CA. You will engage participants, connect them to training opportunities, and coordinate with partners to place clients in employment.

The role includes eligibility determinations, resume/interview coaching, and facilitating workshops on financial literacy and digital skills.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Three years of experience in job development or related fields.
• Knowledge of local labor market and job search strategies.
• Ability to administer academic and vocational testing instruments.
• Familiarity with Goodwill’s mission and policies.
• Strong computer and recordkeeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform case management including eligibility and intake.
• Develop individualized employment plans and follow-up.
• Document evaluations, progress notes, and referrals.
• Provide career counseling and resume/interview prep.
• Lead job readiness workshops and connect to training programs.
• Develop job leads and perform direct placement activities.
• Collaborate with employers, training providers, and partners.
• Maintain progress records in compliance with program metrics.
