Job summary

Commonwealth of Massachusetts seeks a Seasonal Forest & Park Supervisor I for Wompatuck State Park in Hingham, MA. This role oversees winter operations, facilities maintenance and visitor services for the seasonal period from mid‑November to late March.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, coordinating with volunteers and partners, and ensuring safety, program delivery and resource protection. Work may include weekends/holidays with schedule discretion by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in forestry, parks or recreational management.
• Associate degree or higher in forestry, natural resources management or parks and recreation management may substitute for the required experience.
• Massachusetts driver's license may be required depending on assignment.

Responsibilities

• Lead snow and ice operations, including overtime and holiday work.
• Supervise staff and coordinate seasonal operations, maintenance and programming at the park.
• Prepare reports, schedule work, evaluate performance and provide staff training.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness standards for visitor services and resource protection.
• Coordinate with partners, volunteers and other staff to ensure smooth park operation.
