Job summary

Applitrack is seeking a Winter Percussion Assistant Band Instructor to provide leadership and instruction within the marching band program. The role focuses on percussion, color guard, and visual aspects of performance in after-school settings.

The ideal candidate holds a Kentucky teaching certificate or Emergency Substitute Teaching certificate and can communicate effectively with students, staff, families, and the community; prior experience in percussion and related disciplines is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Kentucky teaching certificate or an Emergency Substitute Teaching certificate per state regulations.
• Experience in instrumental music with emphasis in percussion, color guard, or marching band visual design.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, parents, and the community.

Responsibilities

• Support the marching band program during the school year by assisting with after-school instruction in percussion, instruments, color guard, winter guard, or visual aspects of performance.
• Assist with the coordination and scheduling of all after-school practices with the Band Director's approval.
• Supervise all students under certified personnel during approved after-school programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

TITLE: Winter Percussion Assistant Band Instructor

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Has a valid Kentucky teaching certificate; or
• Holds a valid Emergency Certificate for Substitute Teaching under the qualifications outlined in 16 KAR 2:120 Sec. 2 (7)(b);
• Has experience in one or more of the following areas: instrumental music with emphasis in percussive arts, color guard, or marching band visual design
• Has the ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, parents, and the community

REPORTS TO: Band Director

JOB GOAL: To provide leadership and instruction within the marching band program.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support the marching band program during the school year by assisting with after-school instruction in one or more of the following areas: percussion, instruments, color guard, winter guard, or visual aspects of performance
• Assist with the coordination and scheduling of all after-school practices with the approval of the Band Director
• Have all students under supervision of certified personnel at all times at approved after school programs
• Performs other duties consistent with the position assigned as may be requested by the supervisor
