Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center invites nursing students to participate in the Winter Nurse Externship - Telemetry Care West. This immersive 4-week program provides hands-on experience, expert mentorship, and a real-world view of nursing before graduation.

Spots are limited to ensure thorough preparation for the next steps in your nursing journey. The externship runs from December 14, 2026 to January 9, 2027, with mandatory orientation days December 14–16, 2026.

Our Penn State HealthWinterNurseExternship program is an immersive 4 – week program (December 45, 2026 – January 19, 2027) designed to give participants hands-on experience, expert mentorship, and a real-world look at nursing before graduation. Due to the intensive nature of this opportunity, spots are limited, ensuring each participant is prepared to take the next steps in their nursing journey. The first three days are mandatory for orientation.

2026 KEY DATES:

Externship Dates: Monday, December 14, 2026 – Saturday, January 9, 2027

Mandatory Orientation Days: December 14 – December 16, 2026

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

• Nursing student of an accredited Nursing Program and one clinical rotation, or a Graduate Nurse without Boards required.
