Job summary

Paterson Public Schools is seeking coaches for the winter sports season (Dec 1, 2026 – March 8, 2027) who hold a New Jersey Teacher's or Substitute Teacher Certificate. Candidates should have CPR/AED certification and pursue required safety trainings including Concussion and Heat Acclimatization awareness, with a one-year deadline for Sports First Aid coursework.

Seasonal coaching roles require daily availability during the winter season, with consideration for budget availability and district

Qualifications

New Jersey Teacher's Certificate OR Substitute Teacher Certificate; proof of experience required for substitute certificate holder
Coaching experience preferred, but not required
Must be available daily during the Winter sports season
Must be certified in CPR and AED, and holding a current certificate in both
Must obtain a "Concussion Awareness and Wellness" certificate or its equivalent, renewed annually
Must Obtain a "Heat Acclimatization Awareness and Wellness" certificate or it's equivalent, renewed annually.
All new coaches will have one year after being hired to successfully complete a course in "Sports First Aid"
