Job summary

The State of Wyoming is seeking multiple Temporary Snow Plow Operators for winter plow operations and highway maintenance in Sheridan, Gillette and Moorcroft. Positions are temporary, full-time, and may last up to six months.

Duties include operating plows and related equipment under limited supervision to ensure safe road conditions. Preference may be given to applicants with a CDL (Class A/B) and certifications in Defensive Driving, First Aid/CPR, and Flagger.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and operates core and complex equipment safely and proficiently.
• Removes snow and ice from roadways.
• Utilizes special computerized equipment.
• Flags traffic and sets up traffic control devices under limited supervision.
• Operates single and tandem-axle trucks equipped with plows, wing plows, a sander, and chemical systems to remove snow and ice from roadway surfaces.
