Job summary

Wyoming Department of Transportation seeks multiple Temporary Snow Plow Operators to perform winter snow plow operations and highway maintenance around Cheyenne, Laramie, and other towns. This is a temporary, full-time role potentially lasting up to 9 months.

Responsibilities include operating plow trucks, applying sand/chemical, and maintaining road safety under limited supervision; a CDL and certifications are preferred and may be pursued after hire.

Qualifications

• Current Class A or B CDL preferred
• Experience in road construction, maintenance and equipment operations encouraged
• Ability to obtain Defensive Driving certification
• Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR certification
• Ability to obtain Flagger certification

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate core and complex equipment safely.
• Remove snow and ice from roadways.
• Use specialized computerized equipment.
• Flag traffic and set up traffic control devices under supervision.
• Operate plow-equipped trucks to clear roadways.
