Job summary

The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is seeking multiple Temporary Snow Plow Operators in and around Jackson, Afton, Pinedale, Wamsutter, Rock Springs, Lyman, Evanston, Granger, Kemmerer, La Barge, and Cokeville to perform winter snow plow operations and highway maintenance under limited supervision. This is a temporary, full-time position that could last up to 9 months.

Qualifications

• Must have a current Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements prior to employment.
• Must be able to obtain a Certificate of course completion of Defensive Driving.
• Must have the ability to obtain a First Aid/CPR certification.
• Must have the ability to obtain a Flagger certification.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains core and complex snow plow equipment safely.
• Removes snow and ice from roadways to keep highways open and safe.
• Uses specialized, computerized equipment as part of daily operations.
• Flags traffic and sets up traffic control devices under limited supervision.
• Operates single and tandem-axle trucks with plows, wings, sander, and chemical systems.
