Job summary

State of Indiana is seeking a Winter Seasonal Maintenance Worker for the Vincennes Sub District. The role involves snow and ice removal, highway maintenance, and operating winter equipment to keeps INDOT assets in good condition. A CDL is required, and interviews will be conducted for the Vincennes area.

The position is seasonal with a chance for a sign-on bonus and potential retention bonus for continued employment through the winter season. Training and safety procedures are provided.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Class A or Class B CDL.
• Drug test required as a condition of employment.
• Must be able to move 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform physical activities for long periods.
• Weather exposure tolerance.
• Ability to operate specialty traffic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate basic highway maintenance and traffic equipment to maintain, repair, and clean highways and right-of-way.
• Move and load supplies and materials.
• Winter operation duties including snow and ice removal.
• Emergency response activities such as clean-up, traffic control, lane closures, signs, and barricades.
• Equipment maintenance such as minor repairs, refueling, and pre-trip inspections.
• Follow safety policies and document work in the Work Management System (WMS).
