Job summary

Snohomish School District is seeking a skilled coach for Snohomish High School during the winter season (Nov 16, 2026 – Feb 6, 2027). You will assist the head coach, develop athletes, model sportsmanship, manage equipment, and keep records to support a safe program.

The role requires coaching experience at head or assistant level, WIAA certification, and be 21+. Teacher certification is preferred, with a focus on ethics, teamwork, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• The successful candidate will have coaching experience at head or assistant level.
• Must meet or be willing to meet WIAA coaching certification standards.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Teacher certification preferred; district teaching experience preferred.
• Experience coaching the assigned sport preferred.
• Substantial knowledge of technical aspects of the sport.
• Willingness to pursue new theories and techniques through clinics/workshops.
• First Aid/CPR certificates must be possessed or obtained.
• HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis B training.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in implementing the sports program.
• Develop fundamental skills and understanding of the sport rules.
• Model cooperation, sportsmanship, and ethical behavior.
• Maintain safety, eligibility, and behavior monitoring.
• Issue and inventory equipment; maintain related records.
