Job summary

Kootenai Health is seeking a Snow Removal & Facilities Support Technician to maintain safe hospital grounds during winter and assist with general maintenance when not removing snow. The role requires coordinating with the Facility Engineering team and performing tasks such as painting, moving furniture, and hanging items.

Safety protocols and attendance are essential. The position belongs to the Facilities - Facility Engineering department and is a temporary, day-shift role at KH Hire.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Basic knowledge of snow removal techniques and equipment operation.
• Ability to use hand tools and painting equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating tasks and responding to requests.

Responsibilities

• Performs snow and ice removal on sidewalks, entrances, and designated areas to ensure safe access to patients, visitors, and staff.
• Operates snow removal equipment such as shovels, snow blowers, and small machinery safely and efficiently.
• Applies ice melt or sand to prevent slippery conditions.
• Assists with general maintenance tasks, including painting walls, moving furniture and equipment, and hanging signage or artwork.
• Responds promptly to work orders and requests from the Facility Engineering team.
• Maintains tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Follows all safety protocols and infection control guidelines.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function.
