Job summary

PKF O’Connor Davies in Shelton, CT is seeking a Winter Audit Intern for 2027 to work with industry group specialists and assist with audit engagements. This paid, part-time 12-week program runs from early January through mid-April and requires a minimum of 20 hours per week.

Interns will develop client relationships, draft financial statements, assist with compilations, reviews, and audits, and gain knowledge of accounting pronouncements and income tax concepts.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 75% of a bachelor’s degree in accounting completed from an accredited university.
• Must demonstrate progress towards CPA exam eligibility.
• Interns must be customer‑focused and able to juggle multiple tasks.
• Must be able to commit a minimum of 20 hours per week.
• Must be willing to travel locally to clients 80%+ of the time and have access to a car/public transportation.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with clients and employees.
• Become proficient in assisting clients with routine accounting functions.
• Draft financial statements under prescribed formatting
• Prepare portions of compilation, review and audit engagements.
• Develop a working knowledge of all microcomputer applications, which are routinely used.
• Become knowledgeable about accounting pronouncements and demonstrate a basic income tax understanding.
