Job summary

PKF O'Connor Davies invites applications for its Winter Audit Internship in the Woburn/Boston, MA area. This paid, part-time program runs 12 weeks from early January through mid-April and requires a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week.

Interns will assist with real audit work, draft financial statements, and gain exposure to compilation, review, and audit engagements while developing an understanding of accounting pronouncements and income tax basics.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 75% of a bachelor’s degree in accounting completed from an accredited university.
• Must demonstrate progress towards CPA exam eligibility.
• Good communication and computer skills; team-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
• Interns must be customer-focused and able to juggle multiple tasks.
• Must commit a minimum of 20 hours per week.
• Willing to travel locally to clients 80%+ of the time with access to a car/public transportation.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with clients and employees.
• Become proficient in assisting clients with routine accounting functions.
• Familiarize yourself with the Firm's policies and procedures; be a professional team member.
• Draft financial statements under prescribed formatting.
• Prepare portions of compilation, review and audit engagements.
• Develop working knowledge of microcomputer applications used by the firm.
• Gain knowledge of accounting pronouncements and basic income tax concepts.
