Job summary

The Adaptive Sports Association (ASA) offers seasonal internship opportunities for winter programs, including skiing/snowboarding instruction and therapeutic recreation. Interns will work with staff and volunteers, with paid and unpaid options and minimum 32 hrs/week for full-time slots.

An ideal candidate will have skiing or snowboarding experience and a willingness to lead adaptive lessons, while supporting ASA’s mission and goals.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or equivalent, college degree or in process of degree.
  • Ability to ski or snowboard at an intermediate level.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, participants, and volunteers.
  • Capable of working independently and thinking creatively.
  • Ability/willingness to lead adaptive lessons.
  • Able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Current First Aid/CPR.
  • PSIA or AASI certification preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Interns will assist in winter program planning, implementation, evaluations, leading clinics, equipment maintenance, and other office duties.
  • Time will be spent both indoors and outdoors; work in extreme weather conditions.
  • Time will be spent both indoors and outdoors; percentage of time in and out will depend on intern requirements.
