Job summary

Anduril Industries invites motivated students to join our team for a winter 2027 internship focused on propulsion system design, testing, and integration for unmanned air vehicles. You will participate in engineering activities across engine components, fuel systems, and aircraft integration.

You will collaborate with vendors, assist in CAD design for aerodynamic surfaces, and gain hands-on experience with testing and data analysis in a fast-paced defense technology environment.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Must be returning to school at the end of the internship to continue academic studies for at least one quarter or semester.
• Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities; U.S. clearance eligibility may be required depending on program.
• Ability to complete an in-person 16 to 24-week internship in one of our offices in winter 2027.

• Design, fabricate, and test prototype components and control systems
• Plan, instrument, and execute tests of aircraft propulsion systems
• Coordinate with engine vendors, develop strategic partnerships, and manage development projects
• Support critical hardware demonstrations with customers as needed
• Critical member of team supporting CAD design for internal aerodynamic loft, surfaces and structures
• Travel to test sites as needed

WHAT YOU’LL DO

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of jet and piston engine fundamentals

• Experience with use of engine cycle decks

• Exposure to testing of engines or powertrain components

• Experience designing mechanical parts and surface loft (CAD)

• Understanding of manufacturing methods (machining, sheet metal, composites, 3D printing, injection molding, etc)

• Experience in NX/Teamcenter

• Hands-on experience with jet engine testing including test practices, instrumentation, and data processing

• Knowledge and experience working with Engine Management Systems (EMS), OEM or motorsport

• Experience procuring parts and working in a machine shop. Working knowledge of machine safety and shop safety protocols

US Hourly Range

$34—$50 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
