Keurig Dr Pepper is offering a Winter 2027 Co-op in Packaging Engineering in Burlington, MA. You will gain hands-on experience leading packaging projects, refining specs, and supporting ISTA testing across labs and manufacturing sites.

As a student in Packaging or Mechanical Engineering, you’ll collaborate with Procurement, Quality, and Commercial teams, while developing practical skills in packaging design, process improvement, and project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a department research or process improvement project to streamline work and interactions with the business.
  • Develop and refine specifications for primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging.
  • Create package prototypes and renderings to support concept development.
  • Lead a packaging project involving development or renovation of a packaging format.
  • Support the on-site KDP packaging lab with ISTA testing, pallet load stability studies, and test method development.
  • Conduct lab/pilot/scale-up tests with ISTA lab and manufacturing sites.
  • Gain experience in material and equipment interaction to understand metrics for specs and machine performance.
  • Partner with Procurement and Quality to provide technical support, lead cost-saving initiatives, and qualify materials.
  • Collaborate with Commercial stakeholders to translate business needs into technical packaging solutions.
  • Interact with Stage Gate, Change Validation Process, and Test & Trial Process.

Winter 2027 Co-op - Packaging Engineering

As a Winter 2027 Co-op - Packaging Engineering in Burlington, MA at Keurig Dr Pepper, you will be part of an exciting and fast paced company, whose goal is to satisfy every customer’s beverage needs, anytime, anywhere! You will have real responsibilities and lead projects that contribute to the overall growth and success of this leading beverage company. With a wide range of coffee product offerings, you’ll have the unique opportunity to learn about several packaging platforms, manufacturing processes, and distribution networks.

This role is aligned to the Coffee Operating Unit.

Shift/Schedule:
  • The KDP Winter 2027 Co-op program runs from January 4th - May 21st, 2027
  • Location: Burlington, MA
  • Full-time; 40 hours per week
  • Monday-Friday
  • 8:00am until 5:00pm
  • Hybrid
As a Packaging Engineering Co-op you will:
  • Lead a department research or process improvement project, with the goal of streamlining the way we work and interact with the business
  • Develop and refine specifications for primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging
  • Create package prototypes and renderings to support concept development
  • Lead a packaging project, involving the development or renovation of a packaging format
  • Support the KDP certified packaging lab on‑site by helping with ISTA distribution and material testing, pallet load stability studies, and developing test methods and SOP’s
  • Conduct lab/pilot/scale-up tests, interacting closely with both our ISTA certified lab and our manufacturing sites
  • Gain experience in material and equipment interaction to understand key metrics for specification development and machine performance evaluation
  • Partner with Procurement and Quality to provide technical support and leadership when interacting with suppliers, brainstorming cost savings initiatives, and executing material qualifications
  • Partner with Commercial stakeholders to understand key business requirements and develop technical packaging solutions
  • Interact with various business processes, incl uding Stage Gate, Change Validation Process, and Test & Trial Process

  • Receive professional development training such as networking, professional skills development and presenting
  • Complete a project from start to finish and present it and your takeaways to your team, department,and senior leaders to highlight your project work and impact on the business
Total Rewards:
  • $31/hr
  • Paid bi-weekly
  • $5,000 sign-on bonus, paid within first 30 days of employment
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate currently enrolled in a full time academic program from an accredited college or university majoring in Packaging or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Available to work full time (40 hours per week, M-F, 8am-5pm) from January 2027 to May 2027.
  • Strong academic standing
  • Motivation to learn new skills, with passion for engineering and the drive to obtain results
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize requests, and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills including listening, written and verbal
