Job summary

The Iowa Air National Guard is seeking a highly experienced Wing Command Chief Master Sergeant (GS-0301-12) to advise the Wing Commander and oversee enlisted programs, readiness, morale, welfare, and career development.

The successful candidate will coordinate with DoD and state agencies, supervise First Sergeants and the Wing Honor Guard, manage awards and promotions, mentor personnel, and serve as a liaison to the local community, ensuring effective policy execution across the wing.

Responsibilities

• Advises and monitors Wing policies and standards for the ANG enlisted force.
• Serves as senior enlisted advisor on DoD, NGB, state and unit policies.
• Acts as a bridge between Wing Commander and senior staff; liaises with communities.
• Manages Wing-level enlisted programs focusing on readiness, morale, welfare and training.
• Oversees awards, recognition programs, and the promotion system.
• Develops staff plans to support Wing goals and supervises First Sergeants and Honorable Guard programs.
• Provides guidance on nominations for key enlisted positions and career development.
• Monitors professional development and ensures proper utilization of enlisted personnel.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Wing Commander.
