Job summary

City Winery in the United States seeks a Restaurant Host to greet guests, escort to seats, and support reservations, ensuring a warm, polished first impression. You will maintain dining area presentation and communicate clearly with guests about menus, allergens, and wait times.

Responsibilities include handling inquiries, managing internal communications, and collaborating with waitstaff to deliver exceptional guest experiences across day, night, weekends, and holidays. Attire is required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years’ experience as a Host in a fast-paced, high-volume service environment
• Strong work ethic, team player, and exceptional guest service skills
• Ability to deliver high-quality guest experiences and create memorable visits
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Polished presentation
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Fluency in English with reading/writing and POS use
• Flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Stand/walk for shift and lift up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities

• Greet, converse with, and thank departing guests
• Escort guests to seats and set up dining experience
• Accommodate guest requests and seek management approval when needed
• Handle call-ins and walk-ins, direct or take messages
• Ensure dining areas are tidy, safe, and prepared for service
• Manage voicemails, emails, deliveries, and reservation calls
• Maintain reservations/seating through the designated system
• Provide accurate wait time estimates during busy periods
• Perform opening/closing tasks
• Rotate seating between stations to balance workloads
• Know City Winery brand, history, culture, and programming
• Know menu ingredients/allergens and communicate at table
• Attend trainings, tastings, meetings as needed
• Follow policies; arrive in uniform with neat appearance
• Perform other duties as assigned
