Job Summary

Job Title: Wine and Spirits Cashier

Reports To: Wine and Spirits Department Manager

Responsible for delivering outstanding customer service by working closely with all Wine and Spirits associates to ensure compliance with company policies, achievement of department goals, and meeting associates’ needs.

Wine & Spirits Associates can personalize guest experiences by providing expertise on wine and spirits products suitable for all occasions, from wine pairings to local craft beers, guiding guests to the perfect selection.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Meet all department standards in the Wine and Spirits department.
  • Monitor sales floor and back stock conditions; take corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels and ensure accurate pricing.
  • Coordinate with vendors, the Wine and Spirits Manager, and associates to maintain standards and exceed guest expectations.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Assist guests in finding items on the sales floor.
  • Stay informed about promotions and advertisements.
  • Process transactions efficiently and accurately, maintaining all cash and media at registers.
  • Handle special orders and requests.
  • Answer phone calls professionally.
  • Resolve guest concerns and issues with service or products.
  • Ensure the register area is orderly and stocked.
  • Support and execute superior customer service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain regular and timely attendance, providing notice for absences.
Qualifications
  • Contribute to cleanliness of the department through organization and cleaning.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 21 years old to sample products.
  • Effective tactful communication with customers.
  • Understanding of safety requirements and policies.
  • Ability to recognize and react to safety hazards and operate equipment safely.
  • Must be over 18 years old.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands include standing for long periods, walking, bending, stooping, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in variable temperatures. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.

Work Schedule

Schedules may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on individual availability.
