Job summary

Sixty Vines in Houston is seeking a friendly Host/Hostess to greet and seat guests, manage reservations, and maintain a welcoming entry to the dining area. You will answer calls and provide a polished first impression.

Responsibilities include keeping the entrance tidy, coordinating seating with the team, and offering guests the best possible start to their dining experience. Prior restaurant experience is welcome; flexible schedules and tips accompany the role.

Qualifications

• Fun, energetic and professional attitude at all times while working.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Prior restaurant experiences is desired, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and seat all guests in a hospitable, friendly, and timely manner.
• Handle all incoming telephone calls, before the third ring, using professional verbiage and with a positive and uplifting tone.
• Maintain a clean entrance area, hostess stand, and women's restroom.
• Manage reservations system, including seating within reservation times, quoting proper wait names when necessary, and not over or under-booking the restaurant.
• Escort guests to the proper assigned table while engaging in light conversation and providing the perfect hospitable start to their dining experience.
• Interact with all guests and co-workers in a professional, hospitable, and friendly manner.
• Arrive on time for scheduled shifts, ready to work.
• Proper uniform should be worn at all times including dress, make up, hair, and jewelry. Properly accept and book reservations.
• Offer alternatives when desired times are unavailable to ensure guest turnout.
• Calculate, note, and quote accurate wait times.
• Suggest the bar for cocktails and appetizers during longer waits.
• Keep floors, entry, and aisles clean and debris-free.
• Assist in bussing tables when needed.
• Provide guest directions and ensure smooth navigation around the restaurant.
• Thank departing guests and welcome incoming guests.
• Be familiar with hours, menu items, price range, directions, contact information, and basic restaurant information.
• Provide information on daily menu additions, performances, and wine features.
