Cordelia Fishbar, Clyde’s Restaurant Group’s new concept in Washington, DC, seeks a Beverage Manager / Wine Director to lead a dynamic beverage program, train staff, and ensure superior guest experiences.

The role offers a base salary and quarterly bonus potential, with a 5‑day work week and comprehensive benefits. You will collaborate with chefs to elevate menus and service while mentoring a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of liquor, beer, wine and other beverages.
• Wine certification preferred (Court of Master Sommelier Certified or WSET Level 2).
• 3-5 years’ experience in a high-volume or fine dining restaurant.
• Great verbal and written communication skills.
• Disciplined and fair in developing employees.
• Ability to lift over 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Interview, hire, train, schedule, and develop FOH employees.
• Build and manage a profitable beverage program including cocktails, wine, and beer.
• Weekly beverage ordering and storage organization.
• Conduct monthly inventory.
• Weekly staff education on beverages.
• Guide service team towards constant improvement.
• Work with chefs to ensure menu quality and guest experience.
• Lead on-floor presence and guest engagement.
• Direct safety and health practices, supervise departments.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A BEVERAGE MANAGER / WINE DIRECTOR

• Strong knowledge of liquor, beer, wine and other beverages


• Wine certification preferred (Court of Master Sommelier Certified or WSET Level 2)


• 3-5 years’ experience in a high-volume or fine dining restaurant


• A sense of humor and the ability to persuade and train


• Hardworking, attentive, and hospitality-oriented with a desire to excel and maintain the highest level of service

WHAT YOU WILL DO AS A BEVERAGE MANAGER / WINE DIRECTOR

• Weekly beverage ordering for restaurant and organization of beverage storage areas


• Conducting monthly inventory

• Guide the service team towards constant improvement


• Help our chefs ensure quality in every plate and ensure they are building menus that speak to our clientele


• Work the floor and the shift while balancing the needs of guests and employees
