Job summary

Critical Solutions, LLC is seeking a Windows Systems Engineer to support our federal customer in Norfolk, VA. The role focuses on maintaining, securing, and troubleshooting Windows Server environments within a large-scale enterprise.

You will patch systems, enforce security controls, and ensure regulatory compliance across classified and unclassified environments. The position requires an active DoD Secret clearance, on-site work, and availability for an afternoon/night shift (Tue–Sat).

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance or higher.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field.
• Current Security+ certification.
• Shift availability: afternoon/night shift Tuesday through Saturday.
• Strong communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform Windows Server patching and IAVA remediation across environments.
• Build, configure, and maintain Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022.
• Support the full IT lifecycle: planning, installation, administration, monitoring, upgrades.
• Ensure Windows Server platforms comply with security policies and standards.
• Identify and resolve OS, infrastructure, patching, and app issues.
• Perform STIG remediation and cybersecurity compliance activities.
• Collaborate with teams, customers, subcontractors, and vendors.
