Job summary

Critical Solutions is seeking a Windows Systems Engineer to support a federal customer in Norfolk, VA. The role focuses on patching, remediation, and secure Windows Server administration in a large enterprise environment.

The candidate will build and maintain Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 systems, ensure compliance with security requirements, and collaborate with internal teams and vendors on mission-critical services.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance or higher.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Information Technology, or related field.
• Current Security+ certification.
• Strong communication, analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work an afternoon/night shift Tue-Sat; shift assigned closer to start date.

Responsibilities

• Perform Windows Server patching, IAVA remediation, and security compliance.
• Build, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022.
• Support full IT infrastructure lifecycle: planning, installation, configuration, monitoring, upgrades, decommissioning.
• Ensure OS platforms comply with policies and standards.
• Identify and resolve OS, infrastructure, patching, and application issues.
• Support cybersecurity compliance activities including STIG remediation.
• Collaborate with internal teams, customers, subcontractors, and vendors on initiatives.
