Overview

GovCIO is seeking a highly skilled Windows System Administrator to support the management and maintenance of the Veterans Affairs IT infrastructure. This role involves troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues, ensuring optimal performance and security, and executing scheduled maintenance and upgrade activities. The candidate will collaborate with stakeholders, government leadership, and engineering teams to design, maintain, and optimize server environments in line with customer requirements. This is a fully remote position within the United States.

Responsibilities

1. Proactively monitor system performance, diagnose issues, and implement solutions to enhance reliability and security.
2. Ensure security compliance by managing access controls, backups, and firewalls.
3. Administer network servers and technology tools, driving improvements and scalability.
4. Establish and configure user accounts and workstations to support organizational productivity.
5. Perform system upgrades, deploying new releases and tools to maintain cutting-edge technology standards.
6. Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations and policies for clarity and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or related field with 1-2 years of relevant experience, preferably in application support or development.
