Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to deploy and configure Windows and Linux operating systems, create virtual machines, and support customer environments within a managed services context.

You will troubleshoot, patch, monitor, document activities, and manage ticket queues while collaborating with stakeholders across the organization, with strong emphasis on AD, VMware ESXi, and PowerShell proficiency.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of work experience across various Microsoft server platforms and integrations.
• Proven ability to communicate at multiple levels of a mid-size to enterprise-level organization.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, follow up, and complete tasks.
• Basic experience with Linux platforms.
• Basic knowledge of Active Directory, including design, migration, troubleshooting, and configurations.
• Experience supporting environments running on VMware ESXi.
• Solid troubleshooting methodology.
• Basic knowledge of DNS, ports, and Windows Firewall.
• Preferred: experience with RMM tools, HCL BigFix, SolarWinds N-able, or ConnectWise Automate.
• Preferred: experience using Windows Deployment Server.
• Preferred: experience using PowerShell.
• Preferred: Windows Server certifications such as MCITP or MCP.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and configure Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Create virtual machines and deploy operating systems.
• Troubleshoot and support managed service customer environments.
• Perform patching and service layering.
• Work with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and deliverables.
• Manage support ticket queues.
• Document steps taken and relevant histories.
• Deploy servers and install applications based on customer requests.
• Set up backups and monitoring.
• Deploy patches and troubleshoot issues.
• Perform other duties as required
