Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior System Administrator in Plano, TX to support classified programs. The role requires DoD Top Secret clearance, citizenship, and experience in Windows/Linux, AD, VMware, and container orchestration. Onsite, with travel up to 5%.

You will collaborate across teams to design secure, cost-efficient IT environments for multiple programs with 24x7 readiness.

Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent with 2+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree.
• Active and transferable final U.S. government issued Top Secret clearance is required prior to start; US citizenship is required.
• Must have Windows and/or Linux experience.
• Experience in Active Directory, VMware vCenter, and vSphere.

• Provide IT systems administration in Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
• Manage Windows DNS, DHCP, AD and server replication.
• Collaborate in a fast-paced team to resolve complex IT problems.

Senior System Administrators, based in Plano, Texas, will collaborate with many teams to support exciting, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. Success in this role means you can develop, implement and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems.

What you Will Do:

• Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux environment.

• Experience with Windows Server internals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods.

• Work as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.Using troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems at a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS).

• Experience with data RAID, data backup uses and technologies.

• Install and configure software applications requested by end users. Working with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation on advanced IT processes and procedures and related tasks as assigned.

• Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.

• Must be able to develop solutions and documentation to deal with a variety of technical problems.

• Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours.

• Travel required up to 5%

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field.

• Active and transferrable final U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain program access after start. US citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.”. Specific Customer Clearance required before a start date will be established

• Must have Windows and/or Linux experience.

• Experience in one of the following: Active Directory, VMware vCenter, vSphere.

Qualifications We Value:

• Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF.

• Experience in Windows Server.

• Experience with Containerization Technologies such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, Tanzu, and Rancher.

• Experience with data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions.

• Experience with using Information Technology project lifecycle management processes.

• Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods.

• Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development.

• Experience with Microsoft WSUS, SMECP, and/or Exchange.

• High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment.

• Scripting Experience.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
