This position provides both technical and people leadership for a distributed team of approximately 8–10 desktop engineers and technicians responsible for Windows endpoint management, device provisioning, operating system lifecycle management, endpoint security, automation, and end-user computing services.

The ideal candidate will bring deep hands‑on Windows engineering expertise along with proven experience leading enterprise endpoint teams. This is not simply a desktop support management position—the role requires a strong technical foundation in Microsoft SCCM/MECM, Intune, Windows OS deployment, Autopilot, endpoint security, VDI, automation, and large-scale endpoint modernization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical direction, coaching, performance management, and professional development for the endpoint engineering team.
  • Own the engineering, delivery, support, and lifecycle of the enterprise Windows endpoint platform.
  • Establish engineering standards, operational processes, technical roadmaps, and platform best practices.
  • Ensure Windows environments remain secure, compliant, reliable, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Oversee Windows OS deployment, imaging, patching, configuration, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.
  • Lead enterprise endpoint management utilizing Microsoft SCCM/MECM and Microsoft Intune.
  • Drive modernization initiatives involving:
  • Windows OS migrations
  • Oversee software distribution, endpoint patching, compliance, and SCCM/Intune co-management.
  • Support and provide direction for virtual desktop and remote computing technologies, including Citrix, VMware Horizon, and Azure Virtual Desktop.
  • Drive automation of endpoint operations using PowerShell, Python, or similar scripting technologies.
  • Partner with Information Security to implement endpoint protection, encryption, EDR, identity, hardening, and compliance standards.
  • Ensure endpoint solutions integrate effectively with enterprise networking technologies, including VPN, LAN/Wi-Fi, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Lead enterprise testing strategies, pilot programs, technical evaluations, and proofs of concept.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations regarding endpoint technologies, platforms, and tooling.
  • Own platform health, service performance, operational stability, and engineering execution.
  • Establish priorities, remove technical and operational barriers, and ensure strategic initiatives remain on schedule.
  • Partner closely with Infrastructure, Information Security, Network, Enterprise Operations, and Digital Workplace teams.
  • Support endpoint environments consisting of thousands of devices across multiple locations and hybrid work models.
  • Drive improvements in end-user experience through automation, analytics, platform modernization, and modern support practices.
  • Manage relationships with OEMs, software vendors, and service providers as required.
Required Qualifications
  • 6+ years of IT engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of enterprise desktop/end-user computing experience, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience leading Windows engineering or enterprise endpoint teams.

  • Enterprise patchingDevice compliance
  • Experience supporting thousands of enterprise endpoints across multiple locations.
  • Experience leading large‑scale endpoint modernization or OS migration initiatives.
