We are recruiting for an experienced Windows Engineering Manager to lead enterprise Windows endpoint engineering, modernization, and operational support.
This position will lead a distributed team of approximately 8-10 desktop engineers and technicians responsible for Windows endpoint management, device provisioning, operating system lifecycle management, endpoint security, automation, and end-user computing services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering and operational support of enterprise Windows endpoints.
- Manage and develop a team of desktop engineers and technicians.
- Oversee Windows OS deployment, imaging, configuration, troubleshooting, patching, and lifecycle management.
- Provide leadership for Microsoft SCCM/MECM and Microsoft Intune environments.
- Drive endpoint modernization initiatives, including Intune, Autopilot, Windows 365, and zero-touch provisioning.
- Lead major Windows OS migrations and endpoint lifecycle initiatives.
- Improve endpoint operations through automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar scripting tools.
- Support virtual desktop technologies such as Citrix, VMware Horizon, or Azure Virtual Desktop.
- Partner with Infrastructure, Information Security, Network, and Operations teams to maintain secure and reliable endpoint services.
- Lead testing strategies, pilot programs, proofs of concept, and technical vendor evaluations.
- Monitor endpoint performance, security, compliance, service quality, and operational stability.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation, scalability, reliability, and end-user experience.
Must-Have Requirements
- 6+ years of IT engineering experience.
- 5+ years of enterprise desktop or end-user computing experience, including leadership responsibilities.
- Deep hands-on Windows experience in a large enterprise environment, including:
- OS deployment and imaging
- Troubleshooting
- Patching
- Configuration
- Lifecycle management
- Expert-level experience with Microsoft SCCM/MECM and Microsoft Intune.
- Experience with software distribution, patching, compliance, and endpoint co-management.
- Strong knowledge of virtual desktop technologies such as Citrix, VMware Horizon, or Azure Virtual Desktop.
- Experience automating endpoint operations using PowerShell, Python, or similar scripting technologies.
- Experience with endpoint security, including encryption, EDR, identity, security hardening, and vulnerability management.
- Understanding of LAN/Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, and DHCP as they relate to desktop environments.
- Experience leading enterprise testing, pilot programs, proofs of concept, and technology evaluations.
- Experience supporting thousands of endpoints across multiple locations and hybrid work environments.
- Direct experience with at least one major modern endpoint initiative such as:
- Microsoft Intune modernization
- Windows Autopilot
- Windows 365 Cloud PC
- Intune-first endpoint management
- Windows 10 to Windows 11 migration
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in financial services or another highly regulated industry.
- Experience supporting large, complex enterprise technology environments.
- Experience working with Information Security, Infrastructure, Networking, and Enterprise Operations teams.
- Experience managing OEMs, technology vendors, software providers, or managed service providers.
- Experience with technology budgets, licensing optimization, vendor contracts, and renewals.
- Strong track record of improving end-user experience through automation, analytics, or modern endpoint-management practices.
