Job summary

Abacus Agency is seeking an experienced Window & Door Service / Repair Engineer to diagnose faults and carry out repairs across residential and commercial properties. You will service uPVC, aluminium and composite windows and doors, replace components such as locks, hinges and seals, and complete job sheets with photographic records.

A full UK driving licence is required, along with strong customer‑facing and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Attend customer properties to diagnose and carry out window and door repairs.

• Replace glass units, handles, locks, hinges, seals and other hardware.
• Carry out adjustments to ensure windows and doors operate correctly and securely.
• Identify additional repair requirements and provide clear recommendations to customers.
• Complete job sheets and photographic records of completed work.
• Liaise with the Service Department and suppliers as required.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

Attend customer properties to diagnose and carry out window and door repairs. Diagnose faults with windows, doors, locks, hinges, handles, seals, and associated hardware. Repair, adjust and replace window and door components where required. Service and repair uPVC, aluminium and composite windows, and doors. Replace glass units, handles, locks, hinges, seals, and other hardware. Carry out adjustments to ensure windows and doors operate correctly and securely. Identify additional repair requirements and provide clear recommendations to customers. Complete job sheets and photographic records of completed work. Liaise with the Service Department and suppliers where required. Always provide a professional and customer-focused service. Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.

Essential Requirements

Previous experience as a Window & Door Fitter, Service Engineer or Repair Engineer. Strong knowledge of uPVC, aluminium and composite windows and doors. Practical experience diagnosing and repairing window and door hardware. Experience with locks, hinges, handles, mechanisms and seals. Good practical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage a daily schedule. Good communication and customer service skills. Full UK driving licence. Professional, reliable and customer-focused approach. Basic computer and smartphone skills for completing job sheets and photographs.
