Job summary

Pella Windows & Doors in St. Louis is seeking an Installer to perform on-site window and door installations, finish carpentry, and related carpentry tasks.

The position offers career progression from Apprentice to Lead Installer and requires strong carpentry skills, ability to read blueprints, and a Missouri Class E driver's license. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday with daytime hours; compensation ranges from $20–$40 per hour depending on level, plus benefits and a company vehicle/tools.

Qualifications

• Acute knowledge of proper use and function of carpentry bench and hand-type tools, general knowledge of carpentry, extensive experience with measuring and cutting.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, building specifications
• Two year’s construction-related experience - required.
• High School diploma (or equivalent) - required.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals - required.
• Able to apply basic concepts of geometry and algebra, and be able to calculate percentages and geometric sums.
• Must possess, or be willing to be tested for, a Missouri Class “E” driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Complete window and door installations in accordance with Company policies and procedures
• Perform quality rough framing, finish carpentry, interior trim, base, casing and crown molding work
• Assist in glass replacement and repairs
• Assist in field training of additional installers
• Assist in recommendations for improving install efficiencies
• Identify and repair service related issues
• Initiate and maintain safe work practices
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Protect, repair, and maintain property of the Company, the contractor or the customer at all times
• Interface with our customer on a daily basis, sometimes in difficult circumstances; must meet these demands successfully and with the company’s mission in-mind delivering the Pella Customer experience.
• Move and protect a customer’s personal property when installing or removing existing windows and doors.
• Perform other duties as assigned
